Beyond the Sangres Reviews:

Pueblo Chieftan July 28, 2005 Mary Jean Porter
"Beyond the Sangres: A Tale of Hope, Pain and Courage" is a family saga about Zan and Liette, historical fiction set in this area. Part 1, "Long Ago and Far Away," begins in the sand hills near the rim of Chico Basin, in the shadow of the snow-capped peak "the Mexicans called El Capitan," where the smoke from Pueblo's steel mill could be seen. The family's history, as revealed in a diary, goes much further back - to Dawn Flower, a Cheyenne Indian woman, and Douglas Bethune Anderson, who worked as a freighter and hauled goods to El Pueblol.
